Save A Lot changes to family ownership

The Save A Lot in Pullman Plaza, Butler, has a new owner.

Horizon Management has taken over five Save A Lot stores in the areas of Butler and Canton, Ohio, adding to the company’s portfolio that includes 20 Save A Lot locations.

The fourth-generation family business includes co-owners Henry Nemenz and his sister, Elaine Kawecki, and his brother-in-law John Kawecki. They have been store owners since the 1980s when their dad opened his first Save A Lot store. “We’ve been operating Save A Lot stores in this area for decades, so we’re looking forward to bringing the same quality and value our customers appreciate to new neighborhoods,” said John Kawecki, who also serves as vice president of the company.

The new owners fully remodeled the Butler location, 100 Pullman Square, and they plan to use the new design in the four new Canton locations.

The team also will begin supplementing the stores’ assortment of ethnic food items from varied cultures represented locally to better serve customers in meaningful ways.

“The whole family have always been valuable partners, and their level of involvement and investment in fostering a brighter future for all within their community truly speaks to their commitment to serving everyone,” said Kenneth McGrath, CEO of Save A Lot.

The Butler and Canton stores will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
