Carol Roland

Roland

Carol Frances Ciechalski Rebmann Roland, 85, of Middlesex Township, passed away on March 22, 2023.

Born and raised on the South Side of Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Theresa Ciechalski.

She was the beloved wife for 40 years of John M. Roland; the loving mother of Carolyn Curran (Dale), Donald Rebmann (Micaela) and Douglas Rebmann (Julie); stepmother of Michelle Green and John “Butch” Roland (Tammie); sister of Celine Ciechalski, Frank Ciechalski (Marlene), Sylvia Flick (Harold) and the late Patsy Cogley; dear grandmother of Nathanael, Benjamin, Christian, Rachel and Ryan Rebmann; and stepgrandmother of Nickolas Roland, Jonah Curran and Jude Curran.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Rebmann.

Carol was proud growing up on the South Side of Pittsburgh, and running numbers for her “Mama.” She was the secretary for Pittsburgh Public Schools, and spent several summers at Karamac Resort in the Poconos.

Carol was a graduate of South Side High School and Slippery Rock University where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. She was an active member PSAHPERD, a physical and health education professional association, throughout her career.

Carol taught physical education and health science for Butler Area School District for 31 years, teaching at the junior high and intermediate levels. Carol started intramural bowling at Butler schools, which evolved into the current bowling program. She also was very proud of serving as a lifeguard at State Police Camp Cadet at Camp Bucco. Carol enjoyed the Clarion River, visiting the Outer Banks with family each summer, and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished being with her family. She will be dearly missed.

A special thanks to Phyllis, Jamie, Alyssa, Heather, and the staff at Rose Crest Assisted Living and Bridges Hospice.
