Railroad part of reenactmentTITUSVILLE — The Perry Street Station of the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad will be transformed into a World War II encampment July 15 to 17.On display will be uniforms, weapons and vehicles of the era.On July 16, a train will leave the station at 1 p.m. and a battle reenactment between German and Allied forces will ensue. This event is hosted by 99th Infantry Division Historical Society.Coach tickets are available for $22 for adults, $20 for senior citizens, and $15 for children 1 to 12. The station is at 409 S. SRU exhibit set at galleryPITTSBURGH — The Spinning Plate Gallery in East Liberty will host a Slippery Rock University exhibition July 2 to 31.Two dozen art faculty, students and alumni will be part of “Collective Independence,” an SRU exclusive show at the gallery at 5720 Friendship Ave. An artist’s reception is planned there for 6 to 8 p.m. July 9.Each of the seven exhibiting faculty members selected two students from their art studios to participate. Emlenton teen to sing anthemTeen singer-songwriter Isaac Cole of Emlenton will perform the national anthem along with a set after the Butler BlueSox baseball game on July 4 as a prelude to the city’s fireworks show.Cole has performed nationwide and recently finished in the top 51 contestants on the final season of “American Idol.”The 16-year-old began singing in churches when he was 4, and has been performing concerts since he was 10.
