Brown pilots winner of Dunn Memorial

WASHINGTON, Pa. — True Seelster, driven by Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown, won the $16,800 championship of the Donna Dunn Memorial for 3 and 4-year-old filly and mare pacers during harness racing Wednesday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

True Seelster rallied from third place to win the race over the final quarter.

Mars youth wrestlers place at Pa. meet

INDIANA — Four Mars youth wrestlers placed at the Keystone State Wrestling Championships over the weekend at Indiana (Pa.) University.

Third-grader Fisher Reutzel earned third place in the 8-under division, third-grader Blake Wilson eighth at 90 pounds. Second-grader Dane Bova was sixth at 60 pounds and third-grader Hayden Hazi was eighth at 55 pounds.

KC graduate Stitt helps Clarion sweep

SLIPPERY ROCK — Karns City graduate Alyssa Stitt, a senior on the Clarion University softball team, had a productive day at the plate as the Golden Eagles swept a Wednesday doubleheader at Slippery Rock, 4-1 and 6-5.

Stitt had a double and scored two runs in the first game. She homered and had two hits in the nightcap. Clarion is 2-2 in PSAC West play.
