Woman charged in slippery door knobs, egg-throwing incidents

A woman accused of throwing butter at someone and covering someone’s apartment door in condiments is being charged by Slippery Rock Borough police.

On March 9, Karen M. Daniels, 61, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct following several instances of her harassing a neighbor, police said.

According to documents, officers responded to a report of an egg being thrown at a Graystone Manor apartment door on March 8.

When officers arrived, lipstick was observed on the apartment door along with egg smatterings. The care worker of the caller said after hearing the sound of the egg hitting the door, he observed Daniels walking away down the hall.

Police said this is the third instance that Daniels is accused of harassing the tenant and care worker.

On March 1, the tenant told police Daniels had ripped a wreath off of her door and smeared butter and honey on the doorknob. Police added that Daniels had allegedly been following the tenant, telling her she didn’t require a care worker.

Daniels denied the accusations, and officers told her not to have contact with the tenant.

Police were called back to the apartment building later on March 1 for report that Daniels had thrown butter at the care worker in the hallway. She was cited for harassment for the incident, according to documents filed March 3.

Daniels preliminary hearing is scheduled April 12 before District Judge Joseph Nash.
