Man gets probation for receving stolen jewelry
A Penn Township man who sold jewelry that had been stolen from a Penn Township woman will spend 2 1/2 years on probation.
Caleb D. Rugg, 22, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and was sentenced Thursday by Butler County Judge William Shaffer.
Court records say Rugg at a pawnshop in Butler Township sold a pair of diamond earrings and a ring that had been taken from a woman’s apartment on Greenview Drive.
In addition to the probation, Rugg was ordered to repay the pawnshop owner the $132 he’d been paid for the jewelry, which was returned to its owner.
