Butler County Symphony Orchestra closes its 63rd season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Butler Intermediate High School Auditorium.
The theme for this season has been “A Night of …” and this concert will focus on “A Night of Remembrance.”
The featured guest artist is saxophonist Aaron Patterson. He was the symphony association's Young Artist winner in 2002 and is now an arts-in-education outreach doctoral fellow, Center for Music Entrepreneurship doctoral fellow, and graduate assistant
He will play Decruck's “Sonata in C for Saxophone and Orchestra.”
The concert will include “Sabre Dance,” “Lullaby,” “Dance of the Young Maidens” and a “Titanic” composition about the crowd of passengers stranded on the deck and the music they heard as the ship sank.
The guest conductor will be Matthew Kraemer, one of three guest conductors this season up for the job of permanent conductor and music director.Tickets are available at the symphony office, 259 S.
