Roy Watson “Cappy” Marshall
Roy Watson “Cappy” Marshall, 82, formerly of Cooperstown, Pa., passed away Tuesday.
Born July 10, 1933, at home in what the family calls “The Big House” in Cooperstown, he was the son of the late Richard N. and Glee E. (Truver) Marshall. Cappy spent the last three years in Shippensburg, Pa., under the care of family and the Shippensburg Healthcare Center.
A U.S. Army veteran, Cappy enjoyed camping, hunting, loved collecting hats and junk and being with countless friends. Most of all, he loved his family, including spending time with family in Western New York and Southeast Ohio.
He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Coreen M. (Geisler) Marshall; the loving father of Sarah (Steve) Small, Roy (Beth) Marshall, Susan (Les) Kelley, Roger (Karen) Marshall, Randy (Debbie) Marshall and Rob (Terri) Marshall; and the brother of Glee Lang and Birdie Kroll.
He also is survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant son, James; two sisters, Jane Filipow and Pearl Love; and seven brothers, Sam, Bill, Jim, Chuck, Joe, Bob and Hoover Marshall.
MARSHALL — Memorial services for Roy Watson “Cappy” Marshall, who died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, with the Rev. Greg Wiest officiating.
