Mary Kathleen Dixon McBride
Mary Kathleen Dixon McBride, 87, of Butler died Monday morning at her home.
Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Dixon.
She had worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone for 30 years; was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Slippery Rock, the Eastern Star Chapter 45, Phase II, the Verizon Pioneer Fort Pitt Chapter, the American Legion Post 393 Auxiliary in Slippery Rock; and had been one of the first hospice program volunteers.
Surviving are her husband, J. Harold McBride, who she married Dec. 23, 2000; her two sons, James W. and Jeanette Cunningham II of Butler and Bruce A. and Louise Cunningham of Parker; her three stepsons, Jim and Barbara McBride of Akron, Ohio, Jeffrey McBride of Laurel, Md., and Gregory and Linda McBride of Atlanta, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Darla and Terry Music of Prestonburg, Ky., and Bonnie and Richard Schall of Latrobe; two grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and 18 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Moore and Peggy and Walter Bowen, all of Butler; and one brother, Thomas Dixon of Surprise, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Cunningham, who died in 1993; a grandson, Matthew Cunningham; one brother, Robert Dixon; and one sister, Ruth Marie Murphy.

Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
