Eleanor J. Hogan Delaney, 92, of Petrolia, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

She was born on April 18, 1930, in Kaylor, Pa., and was the daughter of Nellie (Greenawalt) Zavilla.

Eleanor graduated from Karns City High School.

She was a longtime member of Queenstown United Methodist Church, where she was a treasurer for over 40 years.

Eleanor enjoyed planting flowers and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband, James L. Delaney, whom she married on July 17, 2010; her son, Larry Hogan, and his wife, Laura, of East Brady; her daughters, Linda Weigle of Butler, Sandy Zeitler and her husband, Joseph, of Kennerdell, Susie Bowser and her husband, Ab, of Kittanning, and Amy Tascarella and her husband, Dan, of Gadsden, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Eleanor is also survived by her brothers, Clarence “Bud” Bishop of Fairview and Frank Zavilla of Sarver; and her sister, Marilyn Pittman of Richmond, Va.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Clayton Hogan, whom she married on April 23, 1948, and who passed away on Jan. 22, 2008; her granddaughter, Jennifer (Hogan) Hicks; and a brother, Paul Lee Zavilla.

DELANEY — Friends and family of Eleanor J. Hogan Delaney, who died Sunday, March 12, 2023, will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Queenstown United Methodist Church, 267 Queenstown Road, Karns City, with the Rev. Floyd Barnhart officiating.

Interment will be in Bradys Bend Cemetery in East Brady.

Arrangements are being handled by BAUER-HILLIS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES.
