James Henry Holcombe Sr.
James Henry Holcombe Sr., 86, of Butler passed away Monday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Hollidays Cove, W.Va., the son of the late Carl D. and Maude (Ridgeway) Holcombe.
Jim was a former member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was a retired pipe fitter from Armco after 35 years. After retirement, he drove for the Mikan car dealership. He was a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose 64, where he received legion and fellowship degrees. Jim also built and remodeled homes.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Carol “Joan” Holcombe of Butler; two daughters, Paula (Lester) Chaney of Butler and Patricia (Michael) Zaccari of Butler; four sons, Barry (Pamela) Stein of England, William (Lee Ann) Stein of Butler, James H. Holcombe of Butler and Jeffrey L. (Kimberly) Holcombe of Butler; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Lois (Oliver) Stein of Roanoke, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter; his grandson; his sister; and two brothers.
HOLCOMBE — Friends of James Henry Holcombe, who died Monday, June 6, 2016, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Neyman and the Rev.
