Karns City restricting event attendance
The Karns City Area School District is restricting spectator attendance at outdoor sporting events to immediate family members and prohibiting attendance at indoor events as a result of a federal court's decision to grant a stay to Gov. Tom Wolf in the ongoing lawsuit over his COVID-19 mitigation orders.
The ruling means that no more than 250 people can attend outdoor events and no more than 25 people can attend indoor events. The restrictions also apply to all away venues.
As a result, the district is asking that only immediate family members attend outdoor sporting events and is prohibiting attendance at indoor events at Karns City High School. The district had been allowing spectators at all events.
This is a breaking news report.
