No. 13 Rock rolls, 4-1
SLIPPERY ROCK — Kenneth Fultz scored three goals to keep the 13th-ranked Slippery Rock University men's soccer team rolling in a 4-1 win over Shippensburg Saturday afternoon.
Toby Bowser added a goal and Anthony Paganie had two assists for The Rock (6-2-1 overall, 4-2 in the Pennyslvania State Athletic Conference).
Alison Hindley scored on her second penalty kick of the game, this one in overtime, to lead the Slippery Rock University women's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Shippensburg Saturday.Ashley Paganie also scored for The Rock (5-3, 3-3).
The Slippery Rock University volleyball team won the first two sets against California (Pa.) University, but dropped the final three in a tough PSAC loss.Outside hitter Kaylee Smith had 14 kills and 22 digs for The Rock (6-8, 4-2).Setter Kim Wilson added 19 assists.
The Slippery Rock University field hockey team fell to Kutztown 3-0 Saturday.Lisa Belcastro stopped five shots in goal for The Rock (0-5, 0-1).
Knoch graduate and Grove City College quarterback Zach Gross connected with Blaine Miller on a 73-yard touchdown pass, but the Wolverines fell to Waynesburg, 42-16, Saturday.The 73-yard touchdown strike was the second-longest in school history.Gross was 15-of-33 passing for 188 yards and two touchdowns in the loss for Grove City (2-2 overall, 1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference).<B>Thomas More 29, Washington & Jefferson 21 — </B>Butler graduate Jordan Roycroft caught three touchdown passes — the longest being 32 yards — in the Presidents' loss.Roycroft caught a school-record 14 passes for 145 yards in the defeat.
