Francis Biedenbach
Francis J. Biedenbach, 85, of Butler, passed away Monday morning, March 6, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born Jan. 28, 1938, in Herman, and was a son of the late Henry Biedenbach and Catherine (Christy) Biedenbach.
Francis had worked at Pullman Standard for 26 years until the plant closed, and was the founder of Biedenbach Repair in Herman, which he owned and operated.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the R.C. Men’s Club and the American Legion Post 778.
He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving is his wife, Beverly C. (Flick) Biedenbach, whom he married Feb. 27, 1960; one daughter, Donna (Jesse) Weichey; one son, Timothy J. (Melissa) Biedenbach; seven grandchildren, Jesse (Melissa) Weichey, Chris (Rebecca) Weichey, and Aleacia, Derick, Jared, Levi and Haley Biedenbach; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Dottie) Biedenbach and Charles Biedenbach; and two sisters, Marie Fields and Alice (Paul) Young.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Biedenbach; a sister, Ann; three brothers, Steve, Joe and Robert; and a granddaughter, Rachel.
BIEDENBACH — Friends of Francis J. Biedenbach, who died Monday, March 6, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
