Nathan Smith, Sean Knapp, Rob Voltz, Stephen Fuhrer and Dave Ruffner, who represented St. Jude Golf Club, won the Jamison Cup Championship Thursday at Nemacolin Country Club.

The team shot a 36-hole total of 582 to best runner-up St. Clair Country Club by seven strokes. There were 11 golf clubs competing.

Individually, David Brown of St. Clair carded a 66-68-134 to best runner-up Voltz by five strokes. Voltz, a Butler resident, carded a 3-under-par 69-70-139.

Mike Balzano of Parkersburg, W.Va., grabbed the lead on the fifth lap and held it the rest of the way to win the 50-lap Mid-Atlantic Championship Series feature Friday night at Lernerville Speedway.John Flinner of Zelienople finished second. Ed Ferree of Saxonburg was the fastest qualifier in time trials, turning a lap in 15.951 seconds.Butch Lambert of Mars won the Pure Stock feature.
