Arthur Eugene Wagner, 85, of Eau Claire passed away at 6 p.m. Saturday at his home.

He was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Ellwood City to Harvey R. Wagner and Bessie M. Flinner Wagner, who are deceased.

Mr. Wagner was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He worked as a troubleshooter and installer of presses for the Miller Printing Machinery Co. in Pittsburgh. Mr. Wagner was a member of the East Unity Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Wagner is survived by two daughters, Christine Irwin and her husband, Terry, of Dover, Ohio, and Patricia Hortert and her husband, Chris, of Eau Claire.

One brother and two sisters also survive, Floyd Wagner and his wife, Jeanne, of Butler, Martha Barto of Butler, and the Rev. Donna Lee Shogren and her husband, Paul, of Oakland, Md. In addition, he is survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Allerton Wagner, who he married Aug. 12, 1948, and who passed away Oct. 19, 2004; a son, Eugene Lavern Wagner, and two sisters.

<B>WAGNER</B> — Friends of Arthur Eugene Wagner, 85, of Eau Claire, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at <B>THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donna Lee Shogren, retired minister and sister of the deceased, officiating. Officers and members of the American Legion Post 778, Lyndora, and the VFW Post 249 will conduct military services following the funeral service.Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.Online condolences will be received at www.thompson-miller.com.
