Lucas, Wild form race team

Some people say be careful what you wish for because it might come true.

Steve Lucas and Tim Wild are happy to have their dreams fulfilled. Each of these great guys had a racing dilemma. Lucas bought a house and was going to sit out of racing a year, so he sadly sold his 410 Sprint. He bought a 600 Micro Sprint from Rod George and was going to race some of the time.

Later, he got a phone call from Wild telling him he had a problem. He had a 410 Sprint, but needed a driver and offered Lucas a ride. Wild told Lucas that he had to gather some money together for the motor first.

Lucas said: “Why don't I sell my micro sprint and we'll pool our money a get a competitive motor?” So the two guys have launched a partnership and will field a car in a couple of weeks.

Last fall, when racing season ended, Steve's father, Barry Lucas, wanted to buy a radiator for the racer. He drove four hours to the gigantic Flea Market held in Harrisburg. There he found Terry Bowser selling one and bought it. The twosome chuckled about this because they drove halfway across the state to make a deal when they live about five minutes apart in Sarver.

Tribute to GanassiHeinz History Museum is expanding its racing center. One of the areas will include a segment regarding Fox Chapel's Chip Ganassi, who owns the race cars that won the 2010 triple crown, which included the Daytona 500, Indy 500, and the Brickyard 500.Early surprisesThe biggest surprise of the season so far was last weekend's unveiling of the Kelsey George Racing/Dr. John Crawford sponsored #CIII driven by her father, Rod George.Kelsey wasn't ready for her dad to retire and wanted to pay tribute to Dr. Crawford for his longtime support of Rod George. She masterminded a deal that brought back the number #CIII Sprint that reminds many of the successful days of Jimmy Hawley/Dr. Crawford in the late 90s and early 2000s.
