Wilma J. Schnell

Wilma J. Schnell, 80, of Perry Township, Parker, passed away Monday at the Chicora Medical Center after an extended illness.

Born in Bruin on June 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Martha Bowser King.

She was a graduate of Williamsfield High School in Williamsfield, Ohio, in 1950. Wilma married Karl E. Schnell on May 2, 1953, and he passed away on June 19, 1987.

She was employed as a companion for 12 years at the VNA. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 60 where she served as secretary for 33 years and was a three-time worthy matron.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Slaugenhoup of Parker; two sons, David (Nellie) Schnell of Eldorado, Pa., and Eric (Kathy) Schnell of Parker and their families. Also surviving are one sister, Joyce Muscatello of Butler; two brothers, Robert (Sally) Slater of Hooker, and William “Bill” Slater, also of Hooker; two cousins, Dayne Mullett of Warren, Ohio, and David Mullett of Mt. Gileand, Ohio; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

SCHNELL — Friends of Wilma J. Schnell, who passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker.The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Anschutz officiating.
