David McClelland Myers

David McClelland Myers, 86, of Wauchula, Fla., formerly of Prospect, passed away Sept. 28.

He was born June 7, 1926, in Verona, Allegheny County, and was a 1944 graduate of Butler High School. He moved to Florida in the early 1960s.

David was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wauchula and proudly served our country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He loved to spend time with his family, hunting and fishing, and woodworking. David was a wonderful husband and father, and a very proud Pennsylvanian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Grace Monier Myers.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Daphine Williams Myers; two sons J. Eric (Cathleen) Myers of California and Dwight (Jennifer) Myers of Florida; three daughters, Chris (Ronald) Davis of North Carolina, Connie (Bob) Dick of Prospect and Judith Myers Walter of North Carolina; three brothers, Richard (Vickie) Myers of North Carolina, Thomas (Maxine) Myers of Butler and Dale (Diane) Myers of Ohio; three grandchildren, Cheri Elliott, Darin Dick and Jack Walter, with a fourth Myers grandchild expected in April.

MYERS — Visitation and services for David McClelland Myers, who passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, were Oct. 6 in Florida. He was buried in Wauchula Cemetery with military honors.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Florida Gulf Coast Chapter, 134 N.
