Portersville bridge being replaced
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will replace the Portersville Bridge on East Portersville Road in Muddy Creek Township from March 20 to March 31, weather dependent.
A Monday, March 6 news release from PennDOT said crews will begin work on the replacement of the bridge that carries East Portersville Road over Interstate 79 with a two-span composite steel multi-girder bridge. Crews will also work on other miscellaneous construction including drainage, deck repair and utilities during the project.
Short-term traffic control on I-79 with single lane closures will be in place nightly between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge work.
