The Reality Tour, a drug awareness program for youth and their parents, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Butler YWCA, 120 W. Cunningham St.

The program will portray a day in the life of a drug addict, including a visit to the Butler Prison and an emergency room overdose scene.

The tour is open to children age 10 and older when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Registration is required. Registration forms are available at www.realitytour.org.

PENN TWP — An open house will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Nixon Preschool at Nixon United Methodist Church, 334 Airport Road.The event is aimed at families interested in registering for the fall 2006 school year.Fall classes for 3-year-olds will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.Classes for children ages 4 and 5 will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.For information, call 724-586-2015.

HERMAN — St. Mary of the Assumption School in Herman will host a registration day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 15 at the school, Herman Road.Classes for children in kindergarten through grade eight are available for the fall, 2006 school year.A registration fee of $25 for preschool students and $50 for all other students is required and will be applied to each student's tuition.Bus service to the school is available for students in the Butler, South Butler, Armstrong, Mars, Karns City, Slippery Rock and Freeport districts.For information, call the school at 724-283-2129.

A Families Forever Seminar, hosted by Lifesteps and Family Services of Butler Memorial Hospital, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Family First Resource Center, 216 N. Washington St.The seminar will focus on minimizing the effects of divorce on children.A program for children in grades one through six will be held simultaneously.Cost is $50 for adults and free for children. GROVE CITY — The Grove City Middle School will host its annual spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at the school, 130 E. Main St., Grove City.Tickets for the event are available for $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens and $3 for children age 12 and younger. Advance tickets are available at the middle school office for a discounted price.Proceeds from the event will sponsor programs to enhance students' self-esteem.Notices, in writing, of festivals, fund-raising events, newly elected officers and other news from clubs and non-profit groups should be sent to the Focus department one week in advance of the event.
