A copy of Monday's Butler Eagle will get baseball fans $1 off the ticket price to the Butler BlueSox game that night.

Monday night is team photograph night as the BlueSox take on the Chillicothe (Ohio) Paints at Pullman Park. The first 500 fans 14 year old and younger will get a free color photograph of the team and be invited to an autograph session.

So bring in Monday's Butler Eagle to Pullman Park and get $1 off the ticket that night.

Eight Butler County American Legion baseball players advanced from a league showcase, held Friday at Pullman Park. They include:<B>East Butler:</B> second baseman Cody Herald, shortstop Evan Oswald, third baseman Greg Hays and pitcher Nick Rossmiller.<B>Meridian:</B> first baseman Bob Swartwout and outfielder Tanner Master.<B>Butler City:</B> outfielder Wes Henderson.<B>Mars:</B> outfielder Don Trapp.The selected players will next compete in the Region 8 showcase in Saint Marys on June 27.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to terms with Boston College catcher Tony Sanchez, selected in the first round of the amateur draft earlier in the week.Sanchez, the fourth overall pick Tuesday, will receive a signing bonus of $2.5 million."I'm so happy and excited to have signed my contract and get started on my ultimate goal of playing in the major leagues," Sanchez said at a news conference Friday.
