Lifesteps will hold Child Check screening services for children from birth to age 5 on the following dates:

• 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, YMCA, 339 North Washington St.

• 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 18. Community Health Clinic, 107 Bonniebrook Drive

• 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 30, Butler Public Library, 218 North McKean St.

Visits take about 30 minutes and results are discussed immediately. The screening looks at development in the areas of playing, talking, seeing, hearing, moving and thinking.

Appointments are recommended but not required.

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — Slippery Rock University's dance department will hold a Saturday dance program for children ages 3 to 12 from Sept. 12 to Dec. 5 in the McKay Education Building Dance Studio.The classes are divided by age and school grade. Children ages 3 and 4 will meet from 9:30 to 10 a.m., children ages 5 and 6 will meet from 10:15 to 11 a.m., children ages 7 to 12 will meet from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.For information, call 724-738-2036.

CABOT — Good Samaritan Hospice is hosting a Christ-centered support group series called Grief Share to support individuals dealing with the loss of a loved one.Sessions will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays starting Sept. 15 in the GSH second floor conference room at 3500 Brooktree Road in Wexford and from 4 and 7 p.m. Thursdays starting Sept. 17 at the Haven II building (entrance 5) on the Concordia at Cabot campus.Registration is limited; walk-ins are allowed, space permitting. HARMONY — A free, illustrated presentation on the history and recent demolition of two Connoquenessing Creek dams will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Harmony Museum's Stewart Hall.Historic Harmony President John Ruch will talk about the side-by-side dams built by the communal Harmony Society. CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP — Students of the Cranberry Township one-room schools will hold a reunion Sept. 12 at the Plains Presbyterian Church, 326 Plains Church Road. Activities begin at 1 p.m. and dinner is served at 4 p.m. Bring a dish to share and table service.
