Chelsea Gregory

Chelsea Gregory of Tega Cay, S.C., formerly of Mars, will compete Nov. 19 and 20 for the title of Miss South Carolina U.S.A.The pageant will be held at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in Charleston, S.C. The winner will advance in 2011 to Miss U.S.A.Gregory is a graduate of Mars High School. She is a junior at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C., where she is a communications major with an emphasis in public relations and minor in Spanish.She is the daughter of Bill and Sharon Gregory.

BUTLER TWP — Tuesday's 51st Rotary Pancake Festival served more than 1,500 people and once again raised money for the Lifesteps Family Caring Fund.The event is held on Election Day, and Rotary members cook pancakes and sausage for the daylong festival, that also includes raffles and evening entertainment.This year's festival raised more than $10,000 for Lifesteps Family Caring Fund, which is money used to pay program expenses not covered by federal, state or county funding.The Rotary also honored Andy Yaracs and the Butler Vagabonds for their donation of the Vagabond Center for the past 16 years of the festival.

The Syria Shrine raffle was held Oct. 17 at the Syria Temple in Cheswick.
