Pancake festivals return for election
Voters can find two special traditional places to eat on Election Day.
That is when annual pancake festivals take place in Lyndora and Slippery Rock.
The Lifesteps Election Day Rotary Pancake Festival will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave.
Besides food, there will be a bake sale, a basket raffle and a community expo.
Presold tickets are $6 and are available at Lifesteps by calling 724-283-1010. Tickets are $7 at the door. Children ages 5 and younger are free.
The festival benefits Lifesteps.
The Slippery Rock Rotary Club also will have its pancake dinner.
From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, the Rotary Club will serve all-you-can-eat food at the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company social hall, 162 Elm St.
Tickets are available on the day of the event or in advance from a Rotary Club member.
The event helps the club raise money for the Feed My Sheep food cupboard, the Slippery Rock Community Library, Slippery Rock Community Park, the fire company and Rotary programs.
