ZELIENOPLE — Holiday gift bags are available at the Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St.

Shoppers can pick up the bags of gently used books and puzzles in exchange for a contribution to the library. There are gifts for all ages and interests.

In December, the library will highlight its holiday collections of Christmas music, craft books, adult and children’s holiday fiction and books about traditions and customs around the world.

The Lifesteps’ Child Check team will conduct free screenings from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 22 at Lifesteps Butler County Program Center, 383 New Castle Road.

A child check visit takes about 30 minutes and the results are discussed immediately with the parents.

[naviga:h3]Nativity exhibition coming to Sarver[/naviga:h3]

SARVER — St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 409 Sarver Road, will host a nativity walk from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The sanctuary will have dozens of nativities of various sizes, styles and ages. Some are handmade, and some come from other countries.

The church’s live nativity will be outside. Refreshments will be served and admission is free.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 247 Kelly Blvd., will have an indoor nativity display featuring more than 100 nativities from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

[naviga:h3]Concordia plans live nativity scene[/naviga:h3]

JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its third annual live nativity scene from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in front of the Haven II building at 148 Marwood Road. This public event will be free.

The scene will feature Concordia staff and residents and live animals.

This will be a “walk-through” nativity, and guests are encouraged to dress warmly.

[naviga:h3]Christmas concert slated[/naviga:h3]

BAKERSTOWN — First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, 5825 Heckert Road, will present “Coming to Christmas” at 7 p.m. Dec. 18.

The concert will feature the Bakerstown praise band playing Christmas favorites. New unwrapped gifts will be collected for the Women’s Network.
