Dennis Thompson
Dennis B. Thompson, 75, of Karns City, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Butler VA Center.
Born on May 25, 1947, in Butler, Denny was the son of the late Lawrence H. Thompson and the late Edie (Hoak) Thompson.
Denny was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a medic during the Vietnam era.
He was employed at Pullman Standard, and was both a member and board member of the West Sunbury American Legion Post 243, and the Cherry Valley VFW.
Most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren very much.
Denny is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Allen) Thompson; four daughters, Kathy Smith of Indiana, Pa., Krissy (Jeremy) Alm of Iowa, Jennifer (Jason) Long of Tennessee and Lauren (Stephen) Galloway of Renfrew; six grandchildren, Alissa, Emma, Matt, Madison, Isabelle and Graham; two brothers, Douglas (Linda) Thompson of Volant and Barry Thompson of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Denny’s family wishes to extend special thanks to the hospice services at the Butler VA Community Living Center for their exceptional care.
THOMPSON — Visitation for Dennis B. Thompson, who died Thursday, March 2, 2023, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023, at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Edmundson officiating.
Military honors will preside at the funeral home following the funeral and will be provided by the Moniteau Ceremonial Squad.
Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
