Gary E. Palmer
Gary E. Palmer, 60, of Kearney Road, Brockway, Pa., died Saturday at his daughter Melissa’s home, where he had been making his home.
Born on Feb. 6, 1955, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of Donald Palmer and the late Mary Sue Ward Palmer.
Retired, he had been employed at Owens-Brockway Glass where he had worked as a trucker and in maintenance.
Gary was baptized a Catholic. He was a member of the VFW Club. He enjoyed hunting, attending the local race tracks watching his son-in-law “Fuzzy” race, and taking fishing trips to Lake Ontario. Gary also enjoyed tinkering, especially with small engines.
He is survived by his father Donald (Linda) Palmer of Emlenton; one daughter, Melissa (Fuzzy) Fields of Brockway; two sons, Mark (Sammy) Palmer of Union City, Pa., and Michael Palmer of Brockport, Pa.; eight brothers, Richard (Tammy) Palmer of Clarion, Pa., Russell (Jennifer) Palmer, Chris (Jennifer) Palmer, both of Emlenton, Ronald (Jean) Palmer of Ridgeville, S.C., Donald (Nicole) Palmer, Daniel Palmer, Jeffrey Palmer and Allen Palmer, all of Parker; 10 sisters, Sherrie Nale, Jodi (Larry) Wingate, both of Brockway, Michelle Craig of Franklin, Cindy (Bill) Ford of Parker, Maria (Terry) Clark, Amy Palmer, Angie (Robert) Brown, Ashley (Eric) Sherman and Alicia (Frank) Guist, all of Emlenton, and Laura (Aaron) Slaughenhoupt of Cranberry Township; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
PALMER — Calling hours for Gary E. Palmer, who died Saturday, April 25, 2015, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home in Brockway.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Cemetery at Hazen.
Memorial donations may be made to the Brockway Area Ambulance Association or the Hahne Caner Center at DuBois.
