Patrick J. “Pat” Christy, 65, of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on June 30, 1957, in Pittsburgh, and was the son of Thomas J. Christy Sr. and the late Peggy Jo Lawrence Christy.

Pat was a graduate of Butler High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Pat was a housekeeping supervisor at Butler Memorial Hospital for 25+ years.

He played in local southern rock bands, singing and playing guitar. Pat enjoyed mushroom hunting, motorcycles, metal detecting, hiking, kayaking, fishing, was a lover of German shepherds, and loved watching hummingbirds.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Anne Christy, whom he married on May 1, 1997; one son, Christopher Foringer of Prospect; two daughters, Melinda Hinchberger of Butler, and Julia Foringer of Prospect; two grandchildren, Henley Foringer and Charlotte Foringer; one brother, Thomas “Tommy” Christy of Butler; and his service dogs, Andi and Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy.

CHRISTY — There will be no public visitation or funeral services for Patrick J. “Pat” Christy, who died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023.
