Jean A.Wetzel, 87, of Saxonburg, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at her home.

Born June 17, 1935, in Cabot, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Edna Jahnig Wetzel.

Jean graduated from Winfield-Clinton High School in 1954.

She worked at Du-Co Ceramics for 43 years.

Jean was a member of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church for over 70 years. She faithfully attended and loved teaching Sunday school and was the Sunday school superintendent for many years. She was greatly involved in the Presbyterian Women Program held at the church.

In her younger years, she enjoyed square dancing. Jean also enjoyed reading her Bible, canning, gardening, and especially took pride in her flower beds.

Surviving are her sister, Violet Wetzel of Saxonburg; her nephew, Bruce (Lisa) Golojuh of Sarver; her nieces, Debbie (Dave) Karastury of Cabot, and their children, Derek and Melissa Karastury, and Denise (George) Pogue of Butler, and their children, Stephanie and Josh Pogue; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Young, Delsie (Clarke) Montgomery, Twila (George) Fink, Leonice (Earl) Cypher, Alda (Don) Barr, and her twin sister, June (Nick) Golojuh; and her brothers, Wilfred (Madeline) Wetzel, Irving Wetzel and Earl (Maxine) Wetzel.

WETZEL — Friends of Jean A.Wetzel, who died Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Robin Swinsburg officiating.

Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 678 Sarver Road, Sarver, PA 16055.
