Flea market slated at Harmony Museum

HARMONY — A flea market will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Harmony Museum's Stewart Hall, Mercer Street. Lunch will be available for purchase.

MIDDLESEX TWP — The Lighthouse Foundation, 1302 E. Cruikshank Road, will hold free computer classes starting March 10.Classes include Computer for Beginners, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Internet.For information, call 724-898-4673.

HARRISVILLE — The Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department will host a spring bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the fire hall, Route 58.The event will feature a Chinese auction and refreshments.

CALLERY — Achili cookoff will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Crestview Community Church, Kline Avenue.Participants can vote for their favorite chili. The event will also include a basket auction and entertainment by Let Knox and Doris Baker.Proceeds benefit the church's roof fund.

CHICORA — A spaghetti dinner will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Chicora Fire Hall, West Slippery Rock Street, to benefit the American Cancer Society.Hosted by the Nicky's Knights Relay for Life team, the event will also include an Italian charm sale, raffles and a Chinese auction.Takeouts will be available.

BUTLER TWP — The Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and Butler Memorial Hospital will host the seminar Therapy of Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Past Present and Future, March 12 at the hospital's Morgan II Campus.Registration will begin at 6:15 p.m. and the program, presented by Dr. Richard Latuska, will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.To register, call the foundation at 412-823-8272 or the BMH Education Department at 724-284-4232.The event will be held on the fourth floor of the Morgan II Campus, 127 Oneida Valley Road.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock Veterinary Hospital will host an American Red Cross Pet First Aid class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 8.Classes will also be held from 6 to 10 p.m. June 25 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 12.For details or to register, call the hospital at 724-794-8545.

Applications and instructions for the Griffith D. Morgan Scholarship are now available in the guidance offices at Karns City Junior-Senior High School and Kittanning High School.To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university for the 2008-09 school year and be a permanent resident of East Brady or Brady Township, Clarion County or Sugarcreek Township, Bradys Bend Township or Washington Township, Armstrong County.Applications, transcripts and proof of college or university admission must be postmarked by April 30. To be eligible for a scholarship, students must submit an application each year.Notices, in writing, of festivals, fundraising events, newly elected officers and other news from clubs and nonprofit groups should be sent to the Focus department one week in advance of the event. Items should include the name and phone number of the person providing the information and be sent to Focus, Butler Eagle, P.O. Box 271, Butler, PA 16003.
