Police monitor standoff in Zelie neighborhood
ZELIENOPLE — Police have shut down access to a housing plan in the western section of the borough Monday afternoon during a standoff with a man holed up in a house on Oakdale Drive, off West Beaver Street.
According to one report, the man is 20 years old. Unconfirmed reports said he had fired a weapon in the house. However, there is no report of anyone being injured.
Children from the housing plan who attend Seneca Valley School District schools were held at their schools until their parents could get them.
Residents of the plan who could not get to their homes because of the police blockades were detoured to the Zelienople Volunteer Fire Department fire hall.
