James Laird Powers
James Laird Powers, 82, of Saxonburg passed away Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 16, 1934, in Middlesex Township, he was the son of Wylie Powers and Wilma Rearick Powers.
Jim had worked as an independent truck driver and as a foreman at Callery Chemical. He was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church and the Syria Shrine. He enjoyed refurbishing cars and building hunting camps.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene Thomas Powers, whom he married April 13, 1957; his children, Jim (Kathy) Powers of Valencia, Tim Powers of Frederick, Md., and Sharon (Gale) McManus of Saxonburg; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Jon) Mostoller of Butler and Jonathan Powers of Valencia; and his sister, Ruth Powell of Cabot.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph Powers; and two sisters, Orpha Logan and Margaret Chambers.
