Bucuren

Marian Anne Gross Bucuren, of Zelienople, formerly of Economy borough, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at Passavant Community in Zelienople.

Born on April 1, 1927, in Sewickley, she was the daughter of the late Howard Edwin and Mary Anna Kretzler Gross.

She was a graduate of Ambridge Area High School and Duff’s Business School in Pittsburgh.

She was employed by National Electric Products in Ambridge in the payroll department.

After marrying her childhood sweetheart, Gideon Addis (Gidge) Bucuren, on Oct. 26, 1946, she proudly had a full-time job raising their nine children.

She was an active member of the Roman Catholic faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gideon, who passed away on March 23, 2016; and her brothers and their wives, Edward, who proudly gave his life as a U.S. Air Force pilot in World War II, Francis (Laura) and Albert, U.S. Air Force retired (Alice).

She is survived by her five daughters, Ellen Semonik (Gerald), Carol Bucuren, Patricia Scimio (Michael), Jill Garzia (William) and Mary Knox (Robert); four sons, Thomas, Gary (Donna), Paul (Launa) and Christopher; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

BUCUREN — Friends of Marian Anne Gross Bucuren, who died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Divine Grace Parish–St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.

Interment will be at Pinewood Memorial Gardens, 20950 Route 19, Cranberry Township.
