Kim Nowakowski (Butler), California (Pa.) women's basketball freshman, had 11 points and eight rebounds in a 78-68 victory over Wheeling Jesuit in the opening round of the NCAA East Regional Tournament at Anderson (S.C.) College Friday.

Ben Gallagher (Butler), Albright College men's basketball senior, was named to the All-Commonwealth Conference second team. He ranked in the top 10 in the conference in scoring (12.2 ppg.), rebounds (6.5), blocks, steals and free-throw percentage. He finished his college career with more than 1,200 points and 600 rebounds.
