JUSTIN SHEPHERD (Seneca Valley) earned Bloomsburg University MVPhonors in men's track for the third consecutive year and in men's cross country for the fourth straight season. He placed fifth out of 107 runners at the PSACcross country championships to earn All-PSAC honors.•
MELANIE BUCZKO (Butler), a two-year captain of the Bucknell University women's track and field team, received the Christy Matthewson Award as the school's outstanding senior athlete, sharing the honor with men's basketball player Chris McNaughton. She is a five-time Patriot League champion in the pole vault and shoots for a sixth title at this weekend's league championships.•
JEFF WEISS (Slippery Rock University) was named PSACMen's Track Athlete of the Week after breaking his own school record in the 5,000 meters with an NCAAprovisional qualifying time of 14 minutes, 9.94 seconds at the Penn Relays. The mark is the best by a PSACrunner this spring and ranks third in the nation.•
TINA MANGOLA (Seneca Valley) hit two more home runs recently for the Ohio Northern University women's softball team, increasing her single-season school record to 12. She leads ONUwith a .508 batting average, 61 hits, 55 runs scored, 48 RBIand a .933 slugging percentage. She has 12 stolen bases as well.•
NEIL HOAGLAND (Knoch), a member of the Grove City College baseball team, made his first start since 2005 and earned the victory in a 14-6 decision in the second game of a doubleheader Tuesday against D'Youville College. In five innings, Hoagland allowed four hits, one earned run and struck out a career-high seven batters.
