Luther Selfridge
Luther Dean Selfridge, 77, of Butler died Tuesday afternoon at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 24, 1933, in Butler, he was a son of the late John and Harriet (Johnson) Selfridge.
He had worked at the Butler Area Sewer Authority for 21 years until his retirement in 1996.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 117 in Butler and had enjoyed spending time with his family and also watching his grandchildren play various sports.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving are his wife, Anna M. (Colen) Selfridge, whom he married May 24, 1952; four sons: Dean A. (Denise) Selfridge, David W. (Shirley) Selfridge, Keith E. (Cindy) Selfridge and Robert A. (Diane) Selfridge, all of Butler; three daughters, Mrs. Cliff (Carol A.) Popp of Georgia, Mrs. Kris (Susan L.) Hepler of Plant City, Fla., and Jennifer J. Thompson of Butler; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth (Sandy) Selfridge of Butler.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Daniel and William Selfridge; a sister, Jackie Salsa; two granddaughters, Lindsay and Angela Selfridge; and a great-granddaughter, Kendra Selfridge.
