Alameda Waterpark to open Saturday
Alameda Waterpark will open for the summer on Saturday from 12:15-7 p.m.
The waterpark will be open from 12:15 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and from 12:15 to 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer.
Butler County Parks and Recreation delayed the opening of the pool due to a shortage of lifeguards, according to a post on the organization's website.
The post also said residents who have a seasonal pool pass to Alameda Waterpark will receive an extra $50 punch card that can be used as a gift or to bring additional guests.
Leslie Osche, county commissioners chairwoman, said in the news release that the department would offer extra benefit opportunities to people qualified to be a lifeguard. The post includes cash bonuses for lifeguards who complete certain tasks.
