Robert Lewis Fisher

Robert Lewis Fisher, 88, of Renfrew passed away Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 8, 1927, in Renfrew, the son of the late Lewis Cochran and the late Mary (Nicklas) Fisher.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a life member of the VFW Post 249.

Bob also belonged to the Masonic Lodge 694, New Castle Scottish Rite, Syria Temple and the Butler Caravan 14. He was a member of the Nixon United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie (Cooper) Rupp-Fisher of Renfrew; one daughter, Cheryl Turner of Renfrew; one son, Robert L. (Marlene) Fisher Jr. of Butler; eight grandchildren, Shawn Fisher, Christine (Daryl) Shipos, Melissa Fisher, Kimberly Fisher, Sara Fisher, Staff Sgt. Michael Fisher, Katrin (Jarret) Haug and John “Jack” Turner Jr.; one great-grandson, Maverick Haug; two stepdaughters, Sarah (Todd) Blanchard of Dallas, Texas, and Jodie Rupp of Pittsburgh; one stepson, Jason (Christy) Rupp of Mars; and four step-grandchildren, Anabelle and Lily Rupp and Christian and Quin Blanchard.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty G. (Hoover) Fisher, who died on Oct. 25, 1995, and one brother, William S. Fisher.

FISHER — Friends of Robert Lewis Fisher, who died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Cannistraci, his pastor, officiating.Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Butler, with military honors by the VFW Post 249 and the American Legion Post 778.For more information, go to www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
