Sarah Jean Purvis Recio, 71, of Harmony, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at her residence.

She was born July 21, 1951, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Dixon Purvis Jr. and the late Jean Burchinal Purvis.

Sarah was a 1969 graduate of Butler High School.

She worked as a hospice nurse for many years.

Sarah enjoyed reading and was an avid horsewoman. She was very attached to animals, especially her dog, Nikos, and her cat, Keiko. Sarah was a passionate advocate of her causes.

She is survived by three sons, Timothy Recio, Matthew Recio and Ronald Recio; one daughter, Jennifer Recio Lebedev; one grandson, Alexander Lebedev; one granddaughter, Natasha Lebedev; three brothers, Joseph D. Purvis III, William W. Purvis and Robert D. Purvis; her former husband, Rolando Recio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas W. Purvis.

RECIO — There will be no public visitation or funeral services for Sarah Jean Purvis Recio, who died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
