Ahmad El Amir Rashad

Ahmad “Pops” El Amin Rashad, 60, of Butler passed away both suddenly and peacefully Feb. 3 at the Oakland VA following a battle of AML.

Ahmad proudly served in the U.S. Army as both military police and paratrooper. After serving 13 years, he was honorably discharged.

Ahmad enjoyed studying history, music, the outdoors and spending as much time as he could with his family and friends.

Surviving are his fiancée of two years, Anitta Platt; four sons; three stepdaughters; and numerous grandchildren.

“Pops was a very loving, kind, inspiring and motivating person. He will be greatly missed by everyone and will never be forgotten. He will always be in our hearts and minds forever. We will pass on his great memories, fortunes and lessons he taught us.”

RASHAD — Services for Ahmad “Pops” El Amin Rashad, who died Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, were conducted Tuesday in Philadelphia. He was laid to rest in Cinnaminson, N.J.
