MONTREAL - Grant Hackett became the first swimmer to win four straight world titles in the same event, capturing another 1,500-meter freestyle Sunday.

Hackett won with a time of 14 minutes, 42.58 seconds. That was eight seconds off his world record but comfortably ahead of American Larsen Jensen, who beat Britain's David Davies for the silver.

Hackett captured his third individual gold - one more than Phelps - to go along with a silver and a bronze. The Aussie stretched out his own record for world championship medals to 17.

Jade Edmistone of Australia set a world record in the 50-meter breaststroke, winning in 30.45 seconds, beating the 30.57 set by Zoe Baker of Britain in 2002.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Australia's Mark Hensby made a par on the second playoff hole to beat Henrik Stenson and win the Scandinavian Masters for his first European Tour victory.Both players finished regulation play at 22-under 262 on the soggy Kungsangen King's Course after final-round 65s. Marc Cayeux, a European Tour rookie from Zimbabwe, also closed with a 65 and tied for third with Bradley Dredge at 265. Dredge closed with a 70.

LOS ANGELES - Andre Agassi won his fourth Los Angeles title and avenged a loss by defeating Gilles Muller in straight sets Sunday.Coming back from a two-month layoff because of a chronic sciatic nerve problem, Agassi downed the young left-hander from Luxembourg 6-4, 7-5 in the Mercedes-Benz Cup final.

STANFORD, Calif. - Kim Clijsters broke serve six times and took advantage of Venus Williams' erratic game to beat the Wimbledon champion 7-5, 6-2 for the Bank of the West Classic title Sunday.The fourth-seeded Clijsters defeated Williams for only the third time in nine meetings and ended a three-match losing streak to the 25-year-old American.UMAG, Croatia (AP) - Guillermo Coria won his first ATP title of the season Sunday, beating Carlos Moya 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 at the Croatia Open.

BROOKLYN, Mich. - Bryan Herta became the fourth and final member of Andretti Green Racing to win a IndyCar series race this season, capturing Sunday's Firestone Indy 400 at Michigan International Speedway.Herta finished with an average speed of 167.197 mph, with teammate Dan Wheldon, the series points leader, second. Tomas Scheckter was third, followed by Tony Kanaan and Sam Hornish Jr.

Diamond Run Golf Club in Sewickley will host the 2005 Kings/Pepsi/Tri-State Section PGA Junior Player of the Year Championship Wednesday.This tournament concludes a junior golf schedule of 15 open-entry events.
