Carol S. Cooney, 93, of Saxonburg, formerly of Valencia, passed away Friday, Feb.10, 2023, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.

Born Jan. 22, 1930, in Etna, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George Albert Sück and Violet Florence Faust Sück.

Carol was retired from NAPCO and was a member of Mars United Presbyterian Church and a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Etna. Carol loved reading the Bible. She was a former volunteer at the Lighthouse Foundation and was known as a kind and generous woman.

Her favorite pastimes were doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles and playing Scrabble every Sunday. The most important part of Carol’s life, second only to her faith, was her family and especially her grandchildren.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Paul, Carl, Jack and Robert Gallagher; her daughters, Paula Osborne, Carol Alpaugh and Patricia Wikert, with whom she made her home; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her son, Arthur; and her siblings, Gilbert, Glenn Clyde and Alberta Ann.

Cooney — In accordance with Carol’s wishes, all services will be held privately by her family for Carol S. Cooney, who died Friday, Feb.10, 2023.

Arrangements are under the direction of MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
