Annette Marshall

Marshall

Annette Marie Marshall (Jones), 68, of Butler, was called home to be with Our Lord on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, in the comfort of the home she made with her loving husband, Nick. Annette was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. More than that, however, she was a deeply loving and caring friend to all those blessed enough to have known her.

Born June 17, 1954, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of the late Guy Jones and Stella (Bartnowski) Jones. She was determined to make it to her 45th wedding anniversary to Nick, which would have been on April 1, 2023.

It would be wrong to say that Annette lost her nearly five year-long battle with cancer, because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always persistent. When anyone else would have broken, Annette not only stayed strong but also kept a joyous smile on her face, unconditional love in her heart and undying faith in her soul that could be described in no other way than as truly inspirational.

In her final weeks, during a session of physical therapy, Annette joked with the therapist about not wanting to work on going up and down steps because then she would have to do the laundry again. She always had a most genuine and pure sense of humor that brought light to every situation, even the rare occasions when she was on the losing end of a bingo card.

Annette’s entire world revolved around her family. From camping trips and cookouts to holidays and “just because” days, she was always the first to arrive and the last to leave (unless it was snowing). No matter the occasion, she lived to share all the special moments that life has to offer with the ones she loved. Simply put, she lived to love and truly loved to live.

Annette leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Nick; her children, Brenda (Jay) Kowalski and Nick (Kristen) Marshall Jr.; her brothers, Marcus (Lisa) Geibel and Kerri (Toni) Jones; her sisters, Wendylyne (John) Nicol, Kathy (Larry Cogley) Perry and Christina Jones; and her grandchildren, Cory (Cheney) Alter, Kali Alter, Charlie and Jordan Marshall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Angel Alter.
