Betty J. Smith Goehring, 89, of Evans City passed away Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 30, 1926, in Jackson Township, she was the daughter of the late Levi C. and Amanda Householder Smith.

Betty was a member of St. Peters Reformed Church in Zelienople.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the time spent with them.

Betty enjoyed gardening and had a beautiful flower garden.

She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph E. Goehring, who she married Nov. 29, 1947; one daughter, Debra (Thomas) Macino of Niles, Ohio; one son, James (Jeanette) Goehring of Callery; two sisters, Hazel Smith of Evans City and Alice (James) Bauer of Poolesville, Ohio; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

GOEHRING — As per the wishes of Betty J. Smith Goehring, who died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, visitation and services were private.
