John E. “Jake” Mohr, 82, of Harmony died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 27, 1929, in Harmony, he was the son of the late Frank E. and Mae Mitchell Mohr Sr.

Mr. Mohr was a member of the Grace Church of Harmony.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a life-member of the Evans City VFW Post 499, the Hungarian Beneficial Society of Zelienople, the New Sewickley/Unionville American Legion Post 512 and the Harmony Volunteer Fire Company. He also was a member of the Harmony Moose Lodge 957.

He is survived by his uncle and aunt, James “Bill” and Pearl Kilpatrick of Butler; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Peffer of Georgia and Earla Ottaviani of Texas; a nephew, Richard (Connie) Graham of Franklin, and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma L. (Groves) Mohr, who died Oct. 31, 2001; a foster son, Gary Graham; three brothers; and a sister.

<B>MOHR</B> — Friends of John E. “Jake” Mohr, who died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter J. Everett, his church pastor, officiating.
