Philip L. 'Shook' Farinelli
Philip L. “Shook” Farinelli, 82, of Evans City passed away Monday night at his home after an illness.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1932, in Ellwood City, the son of the late John and Alvira Piscitelli Farinelli.
He retired from J & L Steel in Aliquippa after 39 and a half years.
Philip was a member of the St. Christopher At The Lake Catholic Church in Prospect, where he also served as an usher.
He was also a member of the Harmony Moose Lodge 957.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Arlene Stewart Farinelli, who he married on Dec. 5, 1953; his five daughters, Ruth Baker of Evans City, Mary Lou Richards of Slippery Rock, Helen Farinelli of Evans City, Phyllis (Dan) Gifford of New Sewickley Township and Majory (James) Miller of Nebraska; his two brothers, George (Norma) Farinelli of Texas and Paul (Cathy) Farinelli of Kittanning; his three sisters, Virginia Denny of Indiana, Ida Kudamik of Mars and Caroline Urnosky of Florida; his 10 grandchildren, Melinda, Martha, Kolby, Thomas, Renee, Amber, Jeffry, Bethany, Sarah and Shane; his 11 great-grandchildren; and his two step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his two sons-in-law, Robert Baker and Thomas Richards.
Farinelli— Visitation for Philip L. “Shook” Farinelli, who passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Jay Bryan Funeral Home, 443 Main St., Prospect.Rosary service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Christopher At The Lake Catholic Church in Prospect with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Feltz officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Christopher At The Lake Catholic Church, 259 N. Franklin St., Prospect, PA 16052.
