Thomas Wiegand

Thomas J. “Cordwood” Wiegand, 68, of Slippery Rock, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at his home.

Born on July 15, 1954, in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Kenneth John Wiegand and the late Margaret (Moriarty) Wiegand.

Tom was a self-employed carpenter and moved antiques with his custom-made shipping boxes. He was a previous Realtor for Ed Shields Realty, and was a former member of the Jaycees.

Tom is survived by one daughter, Samantha E. (Chris) Whitfield of Shaler; one son, Kenneth Wiegand (Crystal Colvin) of Portersville; one granddaughter, Cassidy A. Whitfield; and two grandsons, Nation Charles Colvin Wiegand and Michael Floyd Wiegand.

He is also survived by one sister, Susan (Wiegand) Vita of Massachusetts; two brothers, Brian (Andrea) Wiegand of Seattle, Wash., and Jimmy Wiegand of Calverton, N.Y.; and his niece and nephews, David Tenenbaum, Jessie Reynolds and Sierra Trudel.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie (Twentier) Wiegand, who passed away in September 2022; and one sister, Ann Margaret (Wiegand) Tenenbaum.

WIEGAND — Services and interment for Thomas J. “Cordwood” Wiegand, who died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, were held privately in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.

A memorial service for both Tom and his wife, Debbie, will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME in West Sunbury.
