Doris L. (Cottrill) Sintz, 93, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Sept. 22, 1929, in Blairsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Virgil C. and Stella (Ramsden) Cottrill.

Doris was a 1948 graduate of Butler High School.

She was a member of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church in Butler for 77 years, where she was active in many areas, including serving parishioners church dinners.

Doris was also a proud blood donor for over 25 years. She enjoyed bowling, and needlepoint on canvas during her earlier years. Doris loved spending time traveling, both domestically and abroad, and watching sports with her late husband, Harry.

Doris is survived by her four children, Sandra Anne (Bob) Strunk of Harrisville, Robert James (Linda) Sintz of Butler, Harry Paul (Teresa) Sintz of Butler and Susan Diane (Dan) Marterella of Boyers; seven grandchildren, Kristie, Carrie, Kurt, Brady, Ashley, Alex and David; 10 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katie, Jack, Shae, Avery, Leo, Enzo, Stella, Theodore and Nico; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Sintz, whom she married on April 14, 1951, and who passed away on March 13, 2022; two brothers, Jack and Dale; and one sister, Betty.

SINTZ — All are invited to attend a visitation for Doris L. (Cottrill) Sintz, who died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, to be held from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m., with Pastor Tara Lynn officiating.

Burial will take place privately in Rose Hill Cemetery.
