Edna Blanche Edes, 90, of Slippery Rock passed away Monday at Grove Orchard in Grove City.

She was born April 2, 1921, in Butler County, the daughter of the late Frank and Blanche (Piper) McDeavitt.

She was very involved in her church, the New Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Jackie L. Hildebrand of Manheim, Pa., Edna Travaglio of Slippery Rock and Erma Marie Onufer of Meridian; two sons, Emil Martin (Kay) Edes Jr. of Prospect and Nicholas A. Edes of Emlenton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Stella Giroski of Mercer; and two brothers, Art McDeavitt of Tionesta and Pastor Kenneth L. (Leona) McDeavitt of Butler.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emil Martin Edes, two grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers.

<B>EDES</B> — Friends of Edna Blanche Edes, who passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, will be received at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service at noon with her brother, Pastor Kenneth L.
